It all starts when you toss a PET bottle into a recycling bin. PET plastic bottles are collected. The bottles are thoroughly cleaned, the labels and caps are removed and the bottles are separated by color. Bottles are ground into flakes. The flakes are then dried to remove any remaining moisture.
Dry flakes are melted into a thick liquid. That liquid gets filtered through a dry plate with holes. Then the liquid polyester hardens and creates a dental floss-like yarn. The machine spools the yarn and then pulls it over hot metal rollers to stretch it and re-align the polyester molecules. The resulting yarn is ready to be woven into Yogacycled active wear.
