WHERE HAVE WE PLANTED TREES IN NOVEMBER?
This month we’ve choosen to plant trees in Vietnam. Vietnam has many tropical forests that support rich biodiversity and sensitive and precious ecosystem. About 25 million people depend on the countries forests for subsistence. Years of over exploitation of the land has endangered many native species of plants and animals, as well as increased the impact of natural disasters. Planting trees in Vietman will help conserve endangered species, regulate climate and provide economic stability for local population.
What impact does it have?
One Tree Planted has experienced partners in Vietnam who work hard to ensure tree-planting is both environmentally and economically sustainable. By planting native fruit trees and replenishing endangered timber species, we can restore balance to the area’s flora and fauna while educating the local community about forest conservation. The project will create jobs for villagers (including site clearance, planting, tending, protection), and provide long-term income through collecting fruits of Son Tra trees.
