As you already know Yogacycled was created with an idea of helping the planet and making it a better place to live in. We are a small independent brand that follows a slow fashion model and we are improving every day to become as sustainable as we can. We believe in doing our part to stop the worldwide plastic pollution problem. We avoid overproduction by producing our gear in limited quantities, which means every collection we release is essentially a limited edition.
We wanted to contribute to our planet even more and offset our carbon footprint from shipping our orders all over the world. One of the biggest steps we made towards being more eco-conscious is that we have partnered up with a non-profit organisation One Tree Planted who is planting trees on our behalf all around the world. With every order placed at Yogacycled webshop, we donate 1 dollar towards reforestation.
One Tree Planted partner with carefully selected reforestation organisations in 4 regions:
North America, Latin America, Africa and Asia.
The time between our dotation and the actual tree plating will vary depending on the region we have chosen and the time of year. Planting usually happens during the rainy season, when the soil provides optimum conditions for tree survival.
This is exactly how your $1 will be used to plant trees:
$0.50 – $0.85 for one tree sapling to be grown at a nursery
$0.20 – $0.30 per tree to be planted
$0.08 – $0.20 per tree average with transport costs, material costs
$0.10 – $0.22 ongoing maintenance of trees
$0.12 – $0.15 operating costs
$0.03 – $0.05 credit card processing fees, transaction costs
When Yogacycled planting session takes place, One Tree Planted will send us an update with photos and information provided by their reforestation partners. This will include details such as the tree species planted, expected survival rates, community engagement, and ecological benefits.
Working with One Tree Planted allows Yogacycled offset carbon emissions from shipping orders all over the world, and be a part of something greater.
Not only do reforestation projects help the planet, but they give jobs to local communities and provide new homes for the animals.
